It's hard to imagine why you'd call this a failure, unless that gorgeous colorful mosaic was meant to be stained glass – though it looks like you put in a lot of extra effort to make sure we could see the depth and smooth forms of each individual tile. (All of them are even polished and highlighted too!) The whole piece has some amazing life and depth of its own, and getting the details of all the sandstone trim and statues, decorations, etc. to show so beautifully is a pretty amazing feat on its own. Your expert use of lighting goes a long way in making that happen, down to the shape of the shadows on the tiles.
Of course the imagery of the mosaic itself is fantastic, from the powerfully evocative moment it depicts and the structures you used to make up the entire image. The overall shape is beautiful and fits perfectly with the Sun and Moon (and their orbs) watching over her (heh, even their individual tail styles are perfect), plus that scroll work could be a daily deviation on its own. The guards looks terrific too.
(Now, maybe some SJPs would point out one "problem," but since the structure is clearly ancient at this point you can pass it off as just being an artifact of less-enlightened times.)
Thank you for sharing your spectacular vision.
It is a fail for what reason, if may I ask?
The pic itself is amazing, to say the least. Those details, those lights and shadows, heck, those sculptures look so real that they seem to pop out of the screen. Magnificent work!
The theme reminds me somewhat of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver where you could explored ancient buildings and Rayman 3 with its colours and Guild Wars 2 when you knows very well GW1. All three elements mixed together.
Great work, Mr. Jazz! I am truly impressed with the astonishing quality of your piece! Keep up the Celestia's work!
